One More Night…

The 2019 regular football season is coming to an end in a couple of weeks. Senior nights are dotted across the Southwest Virginia region, the last home football game for many athletes. Win or lose, the last home game as a Senior still stings, though a win eases the sting, a loss increases the pain of the sting. Knowing it is probably the last time you will ever suit up, walk out onto the football field, and play under those stadium lights. From the first day of practice until that final sound of the buzzer on the scoreboard at the end of the fourth quarter and all those moments in between. The rough practices, the winning seasons, the losing seasons, when it got rough, the thoughts of is it was worth it but you did not quit on your team or yourself, playing the game you love with some of the best friends you will ever have. All of it, over in a blink of an eye, done! The memories made and the fun had still there and hopefully one day you will pass them down to your kids telling them about the game you loved. Yet, finally when the time comes that your back at that field on a cool crisp Friday night to show support for your child’s school, you’ll catch yourself living vicariously through the kids that still play on those Friday nights…
